Rehabilitation Teacher II under the direct supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Therapies, performs highly complex (senior-level) rehabilitative planning and instructional work for patients with mental impairments. Additionally, assists with the development of a comprehensive, structured, hospital-wide recreational activity program with supervisory responsibilities. Work involves identifying clients' rehabilitative needs and providing the necessary instruction to assist clients in attaining their optimum levels of independent living. Provides services in groups or on an individual basis. Duties also include providing services at Bonham Day Program as well as on the units, as needed. May supervise the work of others. Performs assigned duties alone or as part of a multidisciplinary team. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Employee must understand that duties, location of work and shift patterns are subject to change as to best meet the needs of the department, program, or hospital. This position is required to drive a state owned vehicle.
