Job Description:

Quality Assurance Spc I - OPSM 
Performs routine social services auditing functions to assess the accuracy relating to program policies and procedures, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), and Medicaid programs. This includes reviewing and analyzing case actions completed to ensure compliance with state and federal statutes, identifying inaccuracies, and correcting such inaccuracies. Work involves assisting with planning, developing, and implementing corrective action measures and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.   
            
Essential Job Functions:

Conducts auditing functions and analysis to assess the accuracy of eligibility decisions made by Texas Works staff in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and Medicaid programs to ensure consistent execution of business processes and to identify areas in need of change. This involves examining and reviewing compliance with program policies by eligibility staff. (30%) Corrects cases in which eligibility errors are identified and provides feedback to appropriate program staff via case review forms. (30%) Collects, organizes, and analyzes data to identify trends as assigned. (15%) Assists in the preparation of administrative reports related to identify trends as assigned. (15%) Performs related work as assigned. (10%)

Knowledge of SNAP, and Medicaid policies and procedures. Knowledge of agency policies, operating methods, and procedures. Knowledge or organizational operations.

Registration or Licensure Requirements:

Initial Screening Criteria:

• Must be a current AES HHSC employee (This does not include HHS agencies such as DSHS). 
• Must be able to travel a minimum of 20%.
• Must have a minimum of two years' experience as a Texas Works Advisor. 
• Must have experience interpreting and/or applying Texas Works policy related to eligibility determinations within the last three years, to include all Texas Works programs: SNAP and Medicaid.
• Experience in TANF is preferred
• Experience working in EWMS is preferred.
• Experience case reading in PIMS is preferred.

This position is telework eligible. Per HHS agency policy, individuals hired for this position that live within 50 miles of their Austin headquarters may be required to be in office three days a week.

This position may be filled at any HHSC office where space is available. Multiple position numbers may be filled statewide with this requisition. The assessment will be sent to the HHSC e-mail address in the Global Address List (GAL).
