The Mental Health Specialist II works Mon - Fri, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM on the Spruce Unit.
The Mental Health Specialist II performs complex counseling or psychological work. Clinically and administratively supervised by a licensed psychologist. Works under moderate supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Work involves psychological testing, group therapies; counseling; reporting and assessments, recovery team participation with duties of coordinating recovery planning. Works directly with Program Recovery Teams and involved in training of unit employees. Ensures that services are provided in accordance with ethical standards, departmental rules and standards of external agencies. Must understand that duties, location of work and shift pattern are subject to change and/or determined by administration to meet the needs of the Hospital. Must understand that duties may include exposure to blood or other potentially infectious material. Employee actively participates and/or serves in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Supports the mission and vision of the facility.
