Laundry Technician performs routine manual and semi-skilled work in an institutional laundry to provide services for NTSH. Activities include driving of state vehicles, sorting, classifying, weighing and recording of weights, operating Continuous Batch Washer system (CBW) loading of washers, loading and drying, flatwork ironing, sheet feeder, folding, shake-out, plastic wrapping, scale and preparing clothes and linens for delivery, pick-up and delivery to units and routine cleaning of work area/areas. Work involves both light and heavy physical labor. This position normally works 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Monday – Friday. May work on week-ends, holidays and hours other than those regularly scheduled may be required. Laundry Worker works under the close supervision from the Laundry Manager with minimum latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment. Completion of work requires use of established methods and/or techniques. Decisions are simple and based on well-defined guidelines. The Laundry Worker has no financial responsibility but is accountable for assigned property. All tasks will be performed within established time frames.

Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.

This position may also be eligible to earn additional pay for work performed on maximum security locations.
