Inspector VI in San Antonio, TX
Under minimal supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment conducts validation surveys, resurveys, initial surveys, certificate of waiver surveys, complaint investigations and follow-up visits of laboratories to determine compliance with Federal regulations for the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) of 1988. Evaluates providers' plans of correction for acceptable corrective action plans for deficit practices cited during surveys. Evaluates and monitors proficiency testing (PT) results for CLIA laboratories. Performs data entry and inquiries for information in the Federal data bases. Maintains an accurate and efficient scheduling information system. Prepares and completes appropriate reports accurately and in a timely manner. Serves as a preceptor for orienting new surveyors. Represents the department at professional meetings. Responds to inquiries by e-mail, letter, telephone or in person within an acceptable time frame as determined by the director. Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policies. Performs other duties as assigned.
