Administrative Asst II Health Information Management Technician will organize and manage health information data by ensuring that it maintains its quality, accuracy, accessibility, and security in both paper files and electronic systems. Key tasks include knowledge of applicable regulatory guidelines as well as system policy and procedure; admission and discharge audit medical records to track documentation completion; compilation and dissemination of due/delinquent list; filing and organization of paper and electronic files and log timely and accurately; protect patients' health information for confidentiality, authorized access for treatment, and data security per local and HIPAA regulations; able to effectively communicate in a professional manner with multiple disciplines at BSSH and external entities; accurate and timely completion of releases of information; provision of customer service support. Assist with evaluation and revision of departmental processes as needed for continual quality improvement. Provide assistance upon request with miscellaneous tasks and projects.

Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.
