Emergency Management / Life Safety Coordinator performs highly complex work under minimal supervision with considerate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Work involves planning, developing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating the emergency management program for the hospital. Work requires collaboration and coordination with federal, state, local government, community, professional, and technical organizations, hospital leadership and staff.
Develops policies and procedures for the hospital's plans for emergency / disaster response and makes recommendations for resources needed meet disaster plan component requirements. Assists with emergency management training for the hospital and coordinating all emergency management activities as required to ensure compliance with the Emergency Management Standard for Joint Commission and any regulatory agency
Represent the hospital for all Life Safety Inspection with regulatory agencies, Joint Commission, State Fire Marshalls Office and monitor all required life safety equipment inspections for compliance with licensing and accreditation requirements. Coordinate corrective action and written responses to citations or deficiencies with respect to Life Safety.
Participates in the Environment of Care monthly and semi-monthly walk-throughs and committee meetings for the hospital.
